BioI love being Canadian.
I love being born in Hong Kong.
I love politics. If by "love" I mean "have a borderline manic interest in".
I hate neo-liberal globalisation and Western hegemony and profit-driven consumerism and worldwide political apathy.
I love daydreaming about being a supervillain when I grow up, so that I can take over the world and force it to smarten up. I love democratic socialism, and someday you will have to learn to like it too.
(I love-hate my superhero archnemesis, though, because life is never black and white.)
I love literature. My blood pumps to the words of Joyce and Sophocles and Atwood and Palahniuk and Findley and Dickens and Rimbaud and Eliot and Bronte and Chabon and Shakespeare and Dostoevsky and Woolf and Bradbury and Aeschylus and Tolstoy and Spenser and and and and.
I love being an English major at university. My parents don't love how I turned down med school for this. They refuse to pay for my education and charge me rent to live at home, in order to deter me. But I shall not be deterred! I work a lot of jobs, but I shall not be deterred.
I also love writing.
I love my father, I love second-hand skirts, I love painting, I love puppies, I love missing my dog, I love getting bruises in the mosh pit, I love zombie movies, I love refreshing my f-list, and I love music.
I love the bizarre mating habits of strange animals, I love ancient world history, I love journalistic integrity, and I love the adrenaline pick-me-up you get when you go to the gym to work out your stress at the end of a long, hard day.
I love bandom, I love slash, and I love shameless canon speculation.
I try my very best to hate ideas and not people, and I genuinely want to be a better person today than I was yesterday. My goal in life is to have done more good than harm at the sum total end.
